A close ended fund works for a fixed duration, which can be anywhere from 3 to 15 years. The fund is only open to investors for a specified period, and the period for redemption is also specified. The investors can enter and exit the fund only on the dates specified. However, all close ended schemes are listed on Stock Exchanges and you can sell the units on the exchange if the units are held in Demat account.
